Beautiful cottage, everything we hoped for and more. Thank you so much for the welcome hamper. The summerhouse was superb and in total we saw 33 species of birds. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Black Bull at Nateby. We shall miss the peace and quiet and hope to return before too long.

Our first time staying in the Yorkshire dales and we are definitely coming back. Amazing views everywhere you look and perfect, perfect walks straight from the doorstep. The wildlife is astonishing, we’ve seen two barn owls, a little owl and a mouse! The house is lovely and the view out of every window is perfect.Thank you for the amazing welcome pack as well.

Lovely walks from the doorstep and lovely drives round the area. Just fab.
A big thank you to Margaret & John for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage. So well equipped & everything was perfect.
Watching wildlife from the front door, amazing, saw Barn Owl hunting, Oystercatchers, Lapwings, Geese and much more. Wish we were stopping another week. Log burner was very welcoming.

This is my 3rd visit to Blades. Wonderful place to stay, superb location. Everything you could want for a perfect break. Amazing views from every window, added bonus of the log fire for the cooler evenings. Margaret and John have thought of everything for a perfect relaxing stay. If you are a wildlife lover this is the place to stay.

Our first visit to Blades, absolutely beautiful and comfortable cottage. We’ve been on some stunning walks despite the weather. Feeling recharged. Thanks for a wonderful holiday and we hope to be back soon.

Stayed 23rd to 27th December 2023

A wild , woolly and wet Christmas with one dry day when we had a great walk up Tarnhill. Cottage very festive. Underfloor heating essential.

Stayed 27th November to 1st December 2023

Returning for our second visit and already planning our next visit. Blades is so beautiful, with the peace and quiet that we love. Blades is a credit to you Margaret and John. Thank you for our welcome pack which we enjoyed, watching the RAF planes fly by.

Stayed November 2023

Here I am again staying at this beautiful clean & cosy cottage, you go above and beyond Margaret & John to make people’s stay here a lovely experience. The autumn colours here are fantastic and to be able to look out across the moorland from the summerhouse is truly breathtaking.

October 2023

We had a very peaceful stay at Blades. Thank you very much for the lovely welcome pack and fresh flowers which held their blooms throughout the duration.
We do so enjoy the stunning scenery, the solitude, the privacy, the wild-life (up close), no light pollution, no noise pollution, the star- lit skies, the different colours the sunlight bestows on the dales at different times during the day, the noise and power of the river and its falls (how special is that to have to oneself?), the long walks, the warm and homely (well equipped) cottage. The quiet reading and………..with a G & T in my hands, I say to myself, “All this! And heaven too”
Unsurprisingly, I am looking forward to our next visit.
