Stayed 13th April to 18th April 2021

First people here since lockdown and our second stay in this lovely cottage. This time we went to Hardraw Falls, Ingleton Fells, Bolton Castle and Jervaulx Abbey. Still plenty to do next time we come!
We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Margaret and John for providing a lovely vegan hamper, it is very appreciated!!

Stayed 18-29th October

Great stay at the haven that is Blades Cottage and surroundings. The peace and quiet is wonderful yet you’re not isolated being close to many places of interest and the beautiful countryside that is the Yorkshire Dales. Everything you need is at the cottage and lovely welcome basket. Had to cancel due to lockdown earlier in the year but no problem rescheduling, thank you Margaret & John. It has certainly recharged our batteries ready for the winter months, we hope to be back.

Stayed 10th to 17th October

An absolutely lovely cottage half a mile down a Farm track from the road, set in a beautiful valley. The track was easily navigable for our A3 and the farmer next door extremely friendly.
This is an absolute gem of a property providing a sense of isolation with great walking straight out of the front door. However if you want to curl up on the sofa in front of the log burner and watch a movie it’s equally well equipped.

Stayed 25th September to 1st October

Such a clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed.
Our first holiday in this difficult year so it has been lovely to re-visit the dales after many years. Oh, and thank you for the goodies.

Stayed 12th to 19th September 2020

Lovely cottage. Great to be back at “Blades” again. A super week, thanks Margaret and John.

Stayed 22nd August to 5th September 2020

We’ve had a lovely 2 weeks. The cottage is one of the nicest we’ve stayed in and is a special spot, great for walking and getting away from things.
We have done so many walks, seen owls and lapwings and return home relaxed. Recommend Dentdale cafe, stone close tea rooms.

Stayed 8th to 15th August 2020

What a privilege to have found “Blades” for a return visit to the Dales. Perfect weather for walking from the cottage along Pennine Bridleway, Cotterdale and Griesdale.
Cosy cottage & space to commune with the sheep. We love it and hope to return.

Stayed 18th July to 25th July 2020

“This cottage is a mixture of stunning scenery from every window and a very stylish interior. Lots of very special touches, including an already set wood burner. You feel away from the Madden crowd and close to nature, yet you are 10 mins from Hawes and 15 mins from Sedburgh where local shops and eating places can be found. Pub/food also a 15 min walk away. What's is also great is the nearness to many of the Yorkshire dales delights. Brilliantly placed for walkers as there are many walks from the cottage. Ranging from easy to challenging. Will definitely return.”

Stayed 11th to 18th July 2020

Cancellation (Covid) of a week in Wales brought about a return to Blades.
Another most enjoyable week despite some disappointing weather at times.
Still managed lots of great walking.

Stayed 4th July to 11th July 2020

We’ve had the most fantastic week here at Blades - the perfect post - lockdown escape. Feels just like being at home and we really didn’t want to leave!
